Whitehall Community Garden

Whitehall Community Garden is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering community well-being and promoting sustainable living in the Whitehall neighborhood and Lorewood Grove Elementary school in Middletown, Delaware. Our community garden aims to bring together the residents of the neighborhood, including the 55+ community within the neighborhood, and the students of Lorewood Grove Elementary school.

About Whitehall Community Garden

We are located on the grounds of Lorewood Grove Elementary School, at 820 Mapleton Ave, in the Town of Whitehall. Nestled between Raleigh Street and the East facing side of LGE, you can see us from the stage at the Beer Garden on Mapleton Ave.

We aim to be a place to grow, gather and teach - so please wander over and check us out! We will have 20 raised garden beds available for rent for two different types of growing seasons. Interested in renting a bed for the season? Click below to learn more.

Upcoming Garden Projects

We have several exciting projects in the works, including a new composting program, a pollinator garden, and an amphitheater. These projects rely on the support of our community members and volunteers to become a reality.

We estimate construction on the garden to begin in the Summer/Fall of 2025, and the first full growing season to begin in the Spring of 2026.
